Director General (DG) at Nyanza District Hospital is responsible for administrative management, planning, monitoring, Hospital data management, evaluation, Hospital policies implementation and approving clinical & finance activities.

Units under DG office:
The Director General carries out the following duties and responsibilities:
1. Develop strategic plan of the hospital for approval by the Board of Directors, coordinating and overseeing its implementation;
2. Promote and protect the hospital interests while it’s corporate brand;
3. Oversee design, marketing, promotion, delivery and quality of programs, products and services;
4. Prepare a draft of yearly budget for Board of director’s approval before its submission to competent organs;
5. Approve and oversee efficient and effective management and utilization of finances, infrastructure and human resources of the hospital;
6. Coordinate and mobilization strategies of resources, planning and implementation of its strategies, including identifying resource requirements, researching funding sources, establishing strategies to attract partners and managing all documentation relating to resources mobilization;
7. Manage the hospital staff according to human resources management policies and procedures approved in accordance with existing laws and regulations;
8. Implement all policies, plans and programs of the hospital;
9. Serve as link between the hospital Board of Directors, supervising Ministry and national or international institutions with the same objectives;
10. Inform in writing, the Board of Directors the progress and the activities of hospital at least once a term;
11. To represent the hospital directorate before the law.
12. To be responsible of quality and safety of patient and employees in general.
